About Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet. It is still owned by the founding families.

In 1972 it launched the Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta: an octagonal bezel, visible screws and an integrated steel bracelet. It created the luxury steel sports watch.
