About Oris

Oris was founded in 1904 in Hölstein, Switzerland, and is still independent. It makes only mechanical watches, recognisable by the red rotor visible on many case backs.

In 2020 Oris introduced Calibre 400, its own automatic movement with a five-day power reserve and high resistance to magnetism. The Big Crown pilot's watch dates from 1938.

Signature models

Aquis
The modern diver, with 300 m water resistance on many models.
Divers Sixty-Five
A reissue of Oris's 1965 dive watch.
Big Crown
The pilot's watch with a large crown for use with gloves, since 1938.
ProPilot
Aviation-inspired sports watches.

What to know before you buy

  • "Calibre 400" means Oris's in-house movement; other models use Swiss movements modified by Oris.
  • Check the power reserve in each listing: Calibre 400 runs about five days.
