About Grand Seiko

Grand Seiko began in 1960 as Seiko's effort to make the most precise and beautifully finished watch possible. Since 2017 it has been a brand of its own.

It is known for Spring Drive, a movement that combines a mainspring with an electronic regulator for a smoothly gliding seconds hand; for Hi-Beat mechanical movements; and for zaratsu polishing, which gives cases their sharp, mirror-like edges. Its textured dials draw on Japanese nature.
