The Big Bang is the watch that made Hublot what it is today: a large, layered chronograph that mixes materials nobody had put together before. It is also a big family, from the 2005 original to manufacture chronographs, small diamond-set models and ten-day manual watches. We have 431 Big Bangs in stock, from $3,740 to $132,880. This guide sorts them out.
By the numbers: Switzerland exported CHF 25.9 billion of watches in 2024, 2.8% less than in 2023, in 15.3 million pieces (9.4% fewer), according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (swissinfo.ch, 30 January 2025).
From rubber strap to Big Bang
Hublot was founded in 1980 and became known for pairing a gold watch with a natural rubber strap, unusual at the time. The Big Bang, launched in 2005, turned that idea into a philosophy Hublot calls the Art of Fusion: combining materials such as ceramic, gold, titanium, carbon and rubber in one watch. In 2010 Hublot introduced Unico, its first chronograph movement designed and made in-house, which now powers most modern Big Bangs.
The lines inside the Big Bang
Big Bang Original. The first-generation design and its direct descendants, often on the 44 mm case. In stock: 6.
Big Bang Unico. The modern core of the collection, with the in-house Unico flyback chronograph, typically 42 or 44 mm, often with an open dial that shows the movement. In stock: 28.
Big Bang One Click. Smaller, often diamond-set models with Hublot's quick strap-change system; we have 16 in 33 mm.
Big Bang Meca-10. A manually wound Big Bang with a ten-day power reserve and an architectural, skeletonized movement. In stock: 7.
Big Bang Tourbillon. High-complication models with a tourbillon, often in sapphire or colored ceramic cases. In stock: 4.
Sizes
Our Big Bangs range from 33 mm to 48 mm. The 33 and 38–39 mm models are mostly worn by women and smaller wrists; 42 mm is the modern balance point; 44–45 mm is the classic Big Bang size, and it wears large because of the thick bezel and lugs. Try the lug-to-lug length against your wrist rather than the case diameter alone.
Materials and what they mean for you
Hublot's reference letters describe the case material, and the material changes the price and the wear:
- Titanium and steel: the most practical; light (titanium) or classic (steel), easy to service.
- Ceramic (often black, as in "Black Magic"): very scratch-resistant, but it can chip or crack if dropped hard.
- King Gold and Magic Gold: Hublot's gold alloys. Magic Gold is a scratch-resistant gold-ceramic composite.
- Sapphire and colored materials: on special editions and tourbillons, priced accordingly.

What to check on a pre-owned Big Bang
- Strap. Most Big Bangs are on rubber or rubber-lined straps with a proprietary fitting; check the condition and that the original deployant clasp is included.
- Bezel screws. The H-shaped screws should all be present and aligned; mismatched screws suggest careless work.
- Ceramic. Look closely at the edges of ceramic bezels and cases for chips.
- Chronograph. Start, stop and reset should be crisp, and the hands should return exactly to zero.
- Papers. The warranty card should match the serial number on the case back. See why box and papers matter.

Big Bang or Classic Fusion?
The Classic Fusion is Hublot's simpler, slimmer collection: three hands or a quieter chronograph, closer to the brand's 1980s designs. Our Big Bang vs Classic Fusion comparison covers the differences in detail, and we have 412 Classic Fusions in stock.
