About the Rolex Explorer

The Explorer was introduced in 1953, the year of the first ascent of Everest, as a robust, highly legible watch for expeditions: a black dial with 3, 6 and 9 numerals. Current models are 36 mm and 40 mm; the Explorer II, a separate model, adds a 24-hour hand and fixed bezel.

Explorer and Explorer II share the name but are different watches: the reference and the Case size row tell them apart. Check the bracelet length and the clasp.
