About Glashütte Original

Watchmaking in Glashütte, a small town in Saxony, dates back to 1845. After decades as a state-run manufacture in East Germany, the company was re-founded as Glashütte Original in 1994 and joined the Swatch Group in 2000.

Its watches follow the German school: three-quarter plates, hand engraving and off-centre dial layouts, such as the PanoMatic's panorama date. Movements are made in-house.
