Norqain Explained: Independence, Freedom 60, Adventure and Wild One

Norqain explained: the young independent Swiss brand, its four lines, the Kenissi-made chronometer movements and how to tell which movement a watch has.

Norqain is a young Swiss brand that has grown quickly. Its range has four lines, and two watches that look alike can have quite different movements. This guide explains both.

Independent and family owned

Norqain was founded in 2018 in Nidau, near Biel/Bienne, and is independent and family owned. Every watch carries a small plate on the left side of the case that can be engraved.

The movement question

Many Norqain models use chronometer-certified movements with a 70-hour power reserve made for Norqain by Kenissi, the movement maker that also supplies Tudor.

Not every Norqain has one. The Caliber row in the specifications tells you, and it explains much of the price difference between similar models.

The four lines

LineWhat it is
IndependenceThe sports watch with a cut-out pattern dial, including skeleton versions
Freedom 60Designs in the style of the 1960s: chronographs and GMT watches with domed crystals
AdventureDive and outdoor watches, including the Neverest models
Wild OneUltra-light watches with cases in a carbon composite and a rubber shock absorber around the movement

Which one should you buy?

  • Independence if you want a modern sports watch on a bracelet.
  • Freedom 60 if you like vintage-style chronographs and GMT watches.
  • Adventure if you want a dive or outdoor watch.
  • Wild One if low weight and shock resistance matter most.

What to check on a listing

  • The caliber, for the reason given above.
  • The size and material, which differ between lines.
  • Whether it is a limited edition, stated in the title.

If you are unsure about size, read our guide to choosing your watch size.

Every watch we sell is checked by our specialist before it ships. We are an independent retailer, not an authorized dealer of the brand; the listing says what comes with each watch.
