About the Hamilton Ventura

The Ventura was launched in January 1957 as the first battery-powered electric wristwatch, in a shield-shaped case unlike anything before it. Elvis Presley wore one in the film Blue Hawaii in 1961, which is why several current models carry the Elvis80 name. Today the Ventura is made with quartz and automatic movements.

The case is not round, so sizes are given as width by height: compare both figures with a watch you own. Check the movement, since quartz and automatic versions look similar, and the finish: steel, black-coated and gold-plated versions exist, and gold-plated is not solid gold.
