Franck Muller watches are recognisable at a glance: curved tonneau cases, bold numerals in colourful dials, and complications that play with the way we read time. We have 43 Franck Muller watches in stock, from $3,080 to $69,080.

A short history

Franck Muller, a Geneva watchmaker known for complicated watches, founded his brand in the early 1990s with Vartan Sirmakes, a case maker. The company is based in Genthod, near Geneva, at a site it calls Watchland.

From the start it combined two things: serious complications, including perpetual calendars, minute repeaters and tourbillons, and a very recognisable design built around the Cintrée Curvex, a tonneau case curved to follow the wrist. Later it became known for playful inventions such as the Crazy Hours, whose hour hand jumps between numerals placed out of order.

The main lines

Cintrée Curvex. The original tonneau case with stretched, colourful numerals; the brand's signature, from simple automatics to tourbillons.

Vanguard. A sportier, more modern tonneau, often on rubber straps, introduced in the 2010s.

Conquistador. Sports watches with a more rectangular tonneau case. In stock: 3.

Master Square and Master Calendar. Square and calendar models. In stock: 2 Master models.

Long Island and Double Mystery. Rectangular ladies' watches and the Double Mystery, which shows the time on rotating discs. In stock: 2 Double Mystery.

What Franck Muller costs

Our prices run from $3,080 to $69,080, with a median of $10,515. Pre-owned pieces start at $3,080. Franck Mullers often sell for much less than their retail price on the secondary market, which makes pre-owned the sensible way to buy.

What to check on a pre-owned Franck Muller

  • The curved case. The Cintrée Curvex case is curved in three directions; dents and over-polishing are easy to see at the edges.
  • Straps. Most models are on leather or rubber straps made for the curved case; check the condition and that the original buckle is included.
  • Complications. For calendars and Crazy Hours, ask for a video showing the watch running and the date changing.
  • Papers and service. See our pre-owned checklist.
